Cozy Up with a Maple Infused Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
- 2 oz brandy (you can use your preferred type of brandy, such as Cognac or Armagnac)
- 1/2 oz Ariston Maple Syrup Infused Balsamic
- 1 sugar cube (or 1/2 oz simple syrup)
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Orange peel or a brandied cherry, for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- Start by placing the sugar cube in an Old Fashioned glass.
- Add two dashes of Angostura bitters to the glass. Adjust the amount of bitters to your taste preference.
- Muddle the sugar cube with the bitters to dissolve it and create a flavorful base. You can use a muddler or the back of a spoon for this step.
- Add a half-ounce of Ariston Maple Syrup Infused Balsamic to the glass.
- Fill the glass with ice, preferably a large ice cube or ice sphere. Stir briefly to combine the ingredients.
- Pour in 2 ounces of your chosen brandy.
- Stir gently, using a bar spoon, for about 15-20 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the cocktail.
- Garnish the cocktail with a strip of orange peel. Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass, giving it a slight twist to release its aroma, and then placing it in the glass.
- Alternatively, you can garnish with a brandied cherry for a sweeter touch.
